EON Productions, MGM and Park Circus have announced that both "For Your Eyes Only" and "The Spy Who Loved Me" will return in Special tribute screenings from May 31st, these screenings will be presented in 4K.
In Australia the films will be shown at selected Hoyts Cinemas, the special tribute re-release will also occur around the world, with Odeon in the U.K. and AMC Theatres in the U.S. to show the two terrific Bond films of Roger Moore. It is quite fitting to see the return of "Spy" in it's 40th Anniversary year.
50% of the screenings proceeds will go to UNICEF, a Charity that was always so close to Sir Roger.
Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli of EON Productions said, “In honour of Sir Roger Moore, we are delighted these Bond screenings will benefit UNICEF which was the charity closest to his heart.”
Gary Barber, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, MGM added “Sir Roger Moore left an indelible imprint on audiences worldwide. There is no better way to remember Roger’s legacy than bringing back his iconic performances as James Bond to cinemas across the world while aiding UNICEF, the charity he steadfastly supported.”
The Spy Who Loved Me is widely considered the best Bond film of Sir Roger's tenure as 007 and his personal favourite, whilst For Your Eyes Only saw Bond return to ground with a grounded entry into the series, that is a favourite amongst purists.
